Psoriasis
Psoriasis is autoimmune disorder that causes red, flaky, crusty patches of skin covered with silvery scales. It is most commonly found on the hands, elbows, knees, scalp and extensor surfaces of the body. It can affect anyone but is genetically related, occurring when the body overproduces skin cells in particular areas. Severity of the condition will vary from person to person.
Psoriasis is a chronic condition that is set off by specific triggers. These can include stress, certain medications, hormones, smoking and alcohol consumption. In particularly severe cases we may refer you to a dermatologist for treatment.
